Today, Disney released the first official one-sheet movie poster for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. We've been getting many revealing looks at the film from a steady diet of banners, teasers, concept art, and trailers, but today's release takes the artwork in a slightly different direction.
The poster harkens back to the days of classic swashbuckling fare by featuring a near full-length one shot of Captain Jack Sparrow with a wealth of goings-on in the background. Very reminiscent of something in which we'd expect to see a confident Errol Flynn standing front-and-center. Mermaids frolic in the surf, a pirate ship burns, all the while Sparrow looking skyward as if contemplating his next wily move.
