Superman's Female Villain Revealed?

E-mail

Antje TraueFollowing the announcement that Amy Adams had landed the role of Clark Kent's intrepid colleague and future love, Lois Lane, comes the recent word that German actress Antje Traue will more than likely join Michael Shannon as a major villain in Zack Snyder's reboot of the Superman Franchise, Superman: Man of Steel.

While there's been no official announcement from Warner/Legendary Pictures, it seems just a matter of getting ink on paper as both Deadline and Variety are putting their names to the speculation. Traue will reportedly depict Faora, a Pokolistanian aide of General Zod. Of course, General Zod was announced as the film's major villain last month and will be portrayed by Michael Shannon.

There are many Faoras throughout the Superman oeuvre, but speculation has it that here she'll be the version born from the Action Comics #779 who could disrupt molecular bonds to create deadly viruses. She's a bad mamma-jamma with an evil disposition and a thirst for power and control making her the perfect baddie alongside Shannon's Zod.
