Pirates Top Grosser of 2006

Boxofficemojo.com -- Two Disney films topped the U.S. box office for 2006, giving the studio a staggering one-two punch of over $650 million in total gross for the past year. Top grosser Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest lead the way with a domestic haul of over $420 million with Pixar's Cars bringing in a not too shabby $244 million. Among the big surpisers were the third installment of the X-Men series, X-Men: The Last Stand and the Tom Hanks thriller The DaVinci Code, which finished 3rd and 4th respectively.
