January 31, 2007 - The folks over at comingsoon.net tell us legendary film producer Dino De Laurentiis is developing the script to an update of his classic film, Barbarella. But he says it's not a remake, rather "a completely new Barbarella."
The central role, made famous in the original by the then unheard of Jane Fonda, has not yet been cast however. Something tells me this will be one of the most important casting decisions in quite some time as I'm just not sure how they'll ever top the original choice.
Of course De Laurentiis produced the original in 1968, launching Jane Fonda's celebrity into the stratosphere, despite the poor quality of nearly everything else in the film.
